Our Story
Our story began in 2011 as a solar PV system integrator. We designed and installed turnkey systems for businesses, schools and homes. Money was good and the company was profitable, but we were not happy. Because of the high cost and limited space, many of these systems were very small-scale. At best, they contributed less than 3% of the total energy consumption. Payback often took decades.
We needed a different approach to tackling the greater issue of sustainability. We wanted to change how people approach energy efficiency on a personal level. To do that, we needed to educate and inform them.
The results surprised us.
Students and teachers loved our solution. Schools were able to reduce up to 30% of their energy cost and the impact was far more significant than the solar PV systems.
In 2014, we began to deploy our energy management technology in commercial buildings with more powerful analytics and predictive functions. Today, hundreds of world-class clients across Asia Pacific from Hong Kong to Australia to Mainland China are using our solution.
In 2016 we launched our patented smart lighting controls to helps organizations optimize and reduce their lighting energy usage. En-trak Smart Lighting was awarded the Best Innovative Research and Development by Singapore Infocomm & Technology Federation (SiTF).
In 2018, Alibaba and CLP joined us and became our strategic investors.
We continue to invest in R&D. In 2019 we introduce En-trak Tenant Experience Platform. This consumer-facing application enables users to control and personalize their office temperature. No more feeling too hot or too cold. This not only significantly improves occupants’ comfort and satisfaction; it also helps to reduce HVAC operating costs. We were later named Frost and Sullivan Asia-Pacific Energy Management Solution 2019.
Today, our clients encompass property developers, enterprises, Government agencies and schools across Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Australia. And this is just the beginning as we continue to expand across Asia-Pacific.
